Will - Neuroblastoma

On February 16, 2021, at just 14 months, Will was diagnosed with Stage IV HR MYCN Amplified Neuroblastoma. Prior to his diagnosis, Will's parents had noticed changes in his behavior, regression in developmental milestones, and recurring low-grade fevers. At diagnosis, Will had a large abdominal tumor and metastases to his bones and bone marrow. He began treatment at a children’s hospital in Chicago and his parents later transferred his care to the Neuroblastoma team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. Over the course of more than 4 years, Will underwent extensive treatment which included 6 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 major surgeries, 14 rounds of proton radiation, 7 rounds of 3F8 immunotherapy and, in May of this year, he completed the Neuroblastoma Bivalent Vaccine Trial at MSKCC.

Today Will is 3 1/2 years cancer free and thriving. He will attend Kindergarten in the fall and loves to play soccer and t-ball. He’s competing on a swim team for the first time this summer and performing in a production of Moana at a local theater with his big sister Emma.

His family is so grateful that Will is thriving and remains cancer free.
